Nataliia Kolomiiets

I was born and raised in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, and earned my degree from the National University of Shipbuilding. While I initially aimed to build a career in shipbuilding, life had other plans. I moved to Yuzhnoukrainsk, a small city near the nuclear power plant, after marrying my husband. The city’s proximity to the plant opened up new career opportunities in the industrial sector.

After completing my master’s degree, I worked for a company serving as a general contractor for the Yuzhnoukrainskaya Nuclear Power Plant. This role allowed me to gain valuable experience in construction and design, specifically for the plant’s needs.

When our son, Michael, was born, I took a break from my career to focus on family. I later returned to work as a design engineer at the  Nuclear Power Plant, where I specialized in machinery renewal and life extension. I loved my role there—it was intellectually stimulating and allowed me to continually grow while working on complex, impactful projects. Although this role was different from my original field, it aligned with my education and kept me engaged in a constantly evolving industry for over five years.

However, circumstances led our family to leave Ukraine, and we moved to the United States to start fresh.

Now, in Allen, Texas, I’m rebuilding my career at Advantage Remodeling and Roofing. This role has introduced me to a completely new field, where I’m learning to handle estimates, insurance claims, adjusters, and marketing. I also focus on improving my English and expanding my professional skills. At Advantage, I enjoy the challenge of working across various platforms and tasks, from customer service to administrative support, all while contributing to our team’s growth. The dynamic environment pushes me to learn and grow daily, making it a rewarding and exciting next chapter.
